Lennie, not being able to control his strength accidently breaks her neck and flees to a place which was chosen by George for emergency escapes. George finds Lennie and distracting him with the details of their dream – shoots him in his head to save him from Curley’s tortures....
Of Mice and Men character analysis Lennie – is a man with mental disabilities who is not capable of controlling his physical strength. He is kind; he blindly believes George and does not doubt the possibility of their dream. George means the world to Lennie as he is the only person who cares about him and protects him. He enjoys petting everything soft and so he pets a mouse, a puppy and Curley’s wife eventually accidently killing each of them.
Symbolism in “Of mice and men” by John Steinbeck Another strong symbol is that Lennie accidently kills what he likes. As Lenny like to pet everything soft he accidently kills a mouse, than a little puppy and eventually Curley’s wife. He happens to kill them only because he is stronger than they are. He does not realize his strength. The same way when Lennie becomes “weaker”, just like the puppy he accidently killed. The puppy was playing without knowing that his friend will kill him.
