Making teams can be regarded as a more productive is a constant issue for most managers. The core of the process is the issue of productivity. This thing is able to make any business both productive and competitive. This feature is particularly important in times of economic slowdown that is currently experienced by the United States.

The term ‘Team Building’ can be characterized as the process of social learning. The process is very complicated in its essence and is usually used to represent the behaviors that occur within teams. These behaviors are often used to bring members of particular organization into a cohesive whole. So, it is not a big wonder that it is very important to learn about the specific processes and strategies that help to sustain the process of team-building within the community. When properly applied, the strategy will improve team coherence, team spirit and other behaviors associated with the attitudes prevalent within in the companies.

A common pitfall that is typical for all business organizations is the confusion that occurs between a "group" and a "team." The notion of "team" has all rights to be regarded as a buzzword in today's business world. The term is often applied to various people who work together. This group of people is being referred to as a team.

A team is a collective notion. The team is functioning according to the decisions that have been accepted by the group. These decisions are shared, the rules are internally established, and the rewards show the tendency to be shared by all members of the group. Companies show the tendency to be involved in team-building process. This process is very important since it can enable people to cooperate with one another. Teambuilding usually help to avoid internal fighting that costs companies plenty.

My personal experience implies on the fact that all groups should be handled like teams.

The major problem with the team concept is that it usually requires more time as decisions have to be reached. The major focus is put on the unilateral moves of a manager. Many attempts have been taken to make teams more productive. Under the circumstances like these a person must consider the purpose of the task at hand. It means that the groups or teams need to be more homogenous. This fact will help people to think alike and to get fast results. The same thing can be told about productivity-oriented teams. When combined together, these teams need focus on procedures that are either not followed, or followed slowly.

Many of the teams are strongly recommended to introduce changes into their procedures. These are projected to work with a measurement mentality.

A few words must be told about my own experience of working in teams. My first experience of team-working dates back to the times when I was working for a Red Cross. As a Red Cross volunteer, I wanted to be on the front line in caring for people who have suffered.

As a part of a big team I had to learn a number of things. The first and the foremost thing for me was the development of my ability to listen. I was working as much as 16 hours per day. The analysis of the experience shows that these days were the best days in my life. While working as a part of a team I got a chance to experience an extraordinary feeling of solidarity that existed between those who have volunteered. I have learned many talents and abilities. While working in a team you learn how to cooperate with the other people. In fact, you are becoming more flexible.

In my perception, team is a wonderful thing first of all because it helps individuals to unite their endeavors. When properly organized, team becomes an enthusiastic and dedicated group of people that are working for the achievement of a common goal.
