                                        My Personal Philosophy

The best idea of the College specifics can be taken on the basis of the analysis of its mission statement.                                                                 Values

In this part of my paper I will tell you a little bit more about the major values that can be achieved by the college students. These values can be grouped in the following manner:

  1. 1.      Excellence this means that nurses are committed to the objective of being the best
  2. 2.      Integrity is concerned with the honest and ethical behavior
  3. 3.      Community is the partnership that is being built on shared participation
  4. 4.      Caring means empowering relationships that are based on empathy and respect       Nursing values can be regarded as fundamental things to the practice of nursing. The values serve as a guide standard for action, and provide a framework for evaluating behavior. The last has an influence on a number of practice decisions. Despite the importance that can be attributed to nursing values, the acknowledgement of them is a thing that is difficult to find. Also, there is a current debate about the way interprofessional working can change the healthcare system in which nurses currently work. The article also argues that the nursing profession needs to demonstrate the fact that nursing values cannot be regarded as something that is merely a theoretical concept. The above mentioned things have a profound impact on the practical working life of nurses.

A return to traditional nursing values is known to enhance patient care at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Dorchester. A whole thing helped to win praise from NHS bosses at the South West Strategic Health Authority. As for the hospital itself, it was recently rated 'excellent' for its quality of services.

Releasing Time to Care -The Productive Ward can be regarded as a national initiative. The initiative is focused on improving ward processes and environments. A whole measure is taken with the aim to help nurses and therapists spend more time on patient care. A whole thing will help to improve safety and efficiency.

                                               Mission and Values

Bellin College of Nursing is known to provide nursing education with a broad theoretical base. The college is known to be based on diverse clinical experiences. That experience is known to contribute to excellence and leadership in the professional practice of nursing.  Also, the College is known to serve the interests of students who came from diverse backgrounds. These students are also known to possess the academic and personal attributes. These attributes are necessary to complete the education and become skilled and principled nursing professionals. As for the lifelong learners, these are known to become the contributing members of a global society.

The faculty, staff, and trustees are known to be committed to the mission, vision, and values of the College. When combined together, these are dedicated to student development and professional achievement.  The College promotes such values as excellence, integrity, community, and caring. These constitute a part of the decision making model.

The other principles that is often followed while up-bringing the students is the principle of spirituality. This spirituality lives on in the hearts and minds of the students, who are studying at the faculty of nursing. The notion of spirituality is concerned with a commitment to community service. This comes with a realization of basic human dignity. A whole issue includes the acceptance of individual differences and an overall love of life. The other important value that is supposed to be brought up in the college is the spirit of the community. A whole thing is based on the importance of human dignity, and the beauty of the natural world. A commitment to community is known to pervade the halls of Roger Bacon. As a result, many students are aware of their status as servants to their community. This status is brought through the school’s various outreach programs.

The other peculiar feature of BSN nursing philosophy is new understanding of nursing. The college tries to impose new values on the students. The new understanding of nursing is concerned with an interactive, caring process. This process is based on knowledge that have attained from nursing research, nursing theory, the arts, sciences, and the humanities. It is especially important when to take into account the changing directions of health care and advancements in technology.

Many of the professional nurses are known to assume leadership roles in health promotion, health protection and disease prevention. Also, nurse is gaining more responsibility. The main responsibility is concerned with the delivery of effective, high-quality client care in collaboration with other health care professionals. The main objective was achieved by BCON faculty. The members of the faculty serve to be the facilitators of the learning process. Also, the faculty is committed to advancing the art and science of nursing. The objective is reached through the integration of research and service into nursing education. The faculty is known to provide an environmental protection of a diverse student population. These are known to pursue excellence in education by assisting students to develop critical thinking skills, professional nursing values and a commitment to excellence.

Teaching/learning can be regarded as rather a dynamic process of discovery. A whole thing is attained through interaction and engagement. Also, a faculty is known to implement cooperative teaching strategies. These are introduced in partnership with students and a supposed to achieve program outcomes. Students are also known to share the responsibility of achieving their learning goals. The objective is being achieved through participation in the educative process. As a result, the major part of the students are asked to develop a scholarly approach. The approach is being realized through learning and assimilation. No less role is played to the process of new knowledge integration. As a matter of fact, integration of new knowledge, utilization of technology, and life experiences is a very important process that can change the very essence of students.

Graduates of BCON are prepared to function as leaders who have the strengths and the potential to affect political, ethical, and economic issues. As nurse leaders, nurses shows the tendency of becoming role models for professional nursing practice, as well as community service, and life-long learning. Also, many of the graduates are prepared to address the health care needs of a diverse, global society and its individuals. A whole thing will contribute to the advancing of the professional practice of nursing.

                                                        Nursing

Why become a nurse? The answer is simple: its one of the true altruistic professions. This is the job for those who have a passion to work with people, to help them when they suffer, to take care of their every need.

I truly believe that nursing can help me become someone who understands the value of human life. Every minute of our life is a gift that should never be taken for granted. Nursing needs people that have strong values and respect for human life and an empathy for those who are in pain.

                                                                   Integrity

One of our core values is integrity, which is connected with diversity, as it respects the dignity and moral oneness of every human being, with no conditions or limitations. Integrity is inherent to the very character of the nurse as it is the representation of one of the most unquestionable, indelible, and permanent marks of nursing. A culture of integrity is observable when an organization stimulates, expects, and systematically demonstrates the principles of open communication, ethical decision making, and humility.

We are the part of a system that very often belittles the dignity and outstandingness of the human person. It is a system swamped with increasing costs, an unseen rise in specialization and technology; limitations in access to most essential services for large numbers of people, a critically insufficient number of nurses, and growing weariness among nurses who work in systems where their professional integrity and ethical practices gradually become lower; and a critical shortage of educators to teach the next generation of nurses.

In understanding how the basic value of integrity, inherent to the character of the individual, iinfluence the nursing profession, it has been suggested that three strong, integrated, and mutually dependent participants are crucial to fulfill nursing's mission, which is the affirmation and guardianship of dignity through human caring and human prospering. These participants are unique people: the patient, who needs healing and hope; the nurse, who guarantees by a solemn promise to help and to heal; and the nurse educator, who helps give form to the moral character and abilitieses of the nurses who care for the ill. All these actors are essential, and all must cooperate to fulfill nursing's mission. Where one is missing or incompetent, the nursing mission cannot be achieved.

Such a new paradigm of three interdependent actors has the power to guarantee integrity in nursing and the affirmation and protection of dignity through human caring and human prospering.
